At the recent Harvest Assembly held at Trewidland Primary School, parents were specifically asked to send in tinned produce, so as we could donate these ‘non-perishable’ items to the Liskeard & Looe Foodbank for distribution.

Class 1 had a lot of fun acting out the Enormous Turnip while Class 2 read a story written by Poppy about the importance of bees and Ru read a poem about a rabbit that looked out of a burrow. Chapel bakery kindly baked a Harvest Loaf which the children shared.

Liskeard & Looe Foodbank was started in 2010 as a direct response to the poverty seen in the streets of our towns and villages in South East Cornwall. Donated items are taken to a warehouse where they are sorted, stored and packed into emergency food boxes by volunteers, to be distributed throughout much of South East Cornwall.
