Contract: Permanent

Salary: Grade H, £31,022 - £33,699 per annum pro rata pay award pending

Actual salary: approx. £26,566 – 28,859 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only plus 5 additional days to include 1 INSET day)

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Year for September 2026.

We are looking for a strong leader to join our team, and who will ensure that students thrive academically and personally. Our year groups have approximately 220 students from a wide and diverse catchment.  The successful candidate will take over a cohort and lead them through to the end of Year 11.

Saltash Community School is a co-educational 11-18 school of over 1200 students including a successful sixth form and incorporating an Area Resource Base; a specialised environment for children with severe and complex learning needs. Saltash is a friendly, caring, supportive and ambitious school with people and relationships at its heart. Here at Saltash we are determined to improve the life chances of every single student on roll, developing happy and healthy citizens who make a positive contribution to our local community and to wider society. 

Daily working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.00pm, Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm.
